About

Lupa Aguilar was born in the city of Queretaro, Mexico; a small but mighty territory that offered them a whole world of culture. As they grew older, surrounded by a developing city and a brain full of curiosity, they dabbled in everything: ballet, tennis, soccer, swimming, football (playing a full season being the only girl), robotics, piano; but nothing truly ever fulfilled them until they watched on TV a performance of the Irish dance group Riverdance. Little Lupa had no idea, but they confused Irish Dance with Tap Dance, and their mother signed them up to their first tap class a week later. From there they never stopped dancing and performing, eventually they joined Irish dance classes and later on discovered theatre in middle school.

In high school, Lupa decided to try their luck with singing and auditioned for the ensemble group of their school. This opened a whole new world of possibilities participating in six different productions throughout high school as an actor and singer, from classic hispanic rock to Legally Blonde The Musical to regional Mexican music.

After graduating, Lupa took an Acting Certificate at EMPA (Escuela Multidiciplinaria Profesional de Actuación), and later on auditioned for AMDA (American Musical and Dramatic Academy) were they graduated with a certificate from the Integrated program. After finishing the conservatory they took a year to work in different fields, dabbling from House Management to several cabarets in NYC to tour guiding to stage managemnt to starring in the play The Conference of the Birds at The Winnipesaukee Playhouse.

Eventually they decided to pursue a degree in theatre and explore the world of playwriting. They transferred their credits to Marymount Manhattan College where, after three years, they will soon be graduating with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a BA in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Writing for the Stage. Some of their favorite credits include being in the Ensemble of Hamletmachine and RENT.
